An Unseen Impact Of A Teacher
Very often, many adults would leave a rebellious child alone after trying to help endlessly.
The videoclip below is based on an actual story of a teacher, Mr Kumar, who did not give up on a rebellious teenager.
The boy decided to leave his house and quit school. He eventually was arrested and sent to a Boy’s Home due to misconduct.
During his confinement, he recalled his memory of his teacher who had given him a book and he started reading it.
It was the turning point when the fragment of memory that his teacher who did not give up on him even when he was no longer under his care as a student.
Teachers can never know the impact we can have on our students even if we do not see it now.
By not giving up on any child, we have infused a positive change even for the rebellious ones which may not be immediate.
When my ex-students visited me during Teacher’s Day, they would recall that I told them not to give up even at the last moment of their examinations.
I have taught many challenging students down the years and the reward of seeing the change in students is one of the greatest reward as an educator.
