Anger management issue of your child

Select.jpg

Does your child lose control and get angry whenever there is a trigger?

Does your child get violent when he gets angry?

If your answer is a definite ‘Yes’, then you can suspect that could be
anger management issue.

Have you been ignoring it?

The anger management problem will never be solved if you choose to just ignore.

Thinking that your child will one day become better is a rather risky decision
for your child’s development.

Never allow the problem to stay the way it is as once it is a habit and
it becomes normal, the change will be harder to come by.

Nevertheless, a sudden mood changed due to puberty period is possible especially for girls due to hormone changes.

What can you do?

I am not a professional psychologist even though I am an educator.

The below are just some suggestions or ideas for you to consider:-

  • Get your child away from the trigger quickly to speak to your child calmly.
  • Stay calm and don’t get angry yourself.
  • Don’t use things to distract away from anger thinking it is a good way as
it is not a permanent solution.
  • Teach your child to move away whenever there is a trigger and
    learn how to calm down.
  • The fact that you cannot change the character of quick temper but you
can teach your child to manage his/her anger in a better way.
  • Teach your child reasoning and to alert an adult or teacher
whenever he/she feels unfairly treated resulting a trigger.
  • Get your child to share his/her thoughts/feelings regularly rather
than bottling up before the volcano eruption.
  • If it gets too serious, get professional help from counsellor or psychotherapist
    for anger management therapy.

I do hope my short article is useful and this is the end of my sharing.

Thanks for your article man! My son and daughter have both short temper, and we are very aware of it, it's totally on me! I am exactly like them , so it's important for me to show the right example, lots of meditation every day !

Thanks for reading. Hopefully some ideas will work for you!

Very nice article with some great tips i think distraction is not a solution but it depending on the age of the child. There is some great children books who can help the child and the parent to understand anger and give tips to respond to anger there is one i quite like it is "when im feeling angry"in english i like this little series who explain the feelings and give tips to help how to handle them:)

Thanks for your positive feedback.
