INKTOBER!! [day 1, SWIFT]
Hello everyone! I'm so excited to announce this years inktober!! It's a challenge to artists to participate in a daily ink drawing following prompts provided by Mr. Jake Parker whom I respect and admire. He started this challenge years ago and it has taken off to include artists from around the globe. I encourage anyone who wants to participate to join in :)
Here is the prompt list from svslearn.com:
For this image I went pretty basic. I used only some sturdy watercolor paper along with a red pencil, my favorite ink pen from pentel, and a water brush.
My palette has evolved over the last few months but in general I use yellow ochre, red cadmium, and pthalo blue. I add in a white gouache to lighten and de-saturate and to darken I try to get the right cool or warm balance between the red and blue hues.
I'll use the red pencil to do the sketch and then do a wash of color over the top of that. The pen comes in last to add the darker spots and details. I really enjoy these prompts, I hope I can inspire some more artists out there to get messy with me :D
Thank you for commenting, upvoting and taking the time to look. Love ya!
i really like the ghost red pencil in the bunny... and a really good expression, one look and you really get the whole story
Thanks @gotmeens! Someone told me a ways back that they really like seeing the "bones" as they called it in the artwork. The ghost red pencil is the planning phase that I have out of laziness decided to leave in. I could do a better job of erasing but for some reason I choose not to and it appeals to people such as yourself - I'm glad!
TBH I like seeing the bones too, thanks for encouraging me :)
Amazing!! Do more topics from the challenge list. Please. I really like your style. Nice to meet you. Following and upvoted.
Hi @mr-monk, thanks for stopping in and for saying hello :) nice to meet you too!
I'll be doing my best to stay caught up with the prompts. I did them all last year and I plan to muscle it out again this year. Really looking forward to the challenge and seeing what others create this month.
Good artwork
Great art!
