the power of war
The great power that wars have is indisputable, but we keep asking ourselves, are they necessary? apparently in the twisted mind of some world leaders war is the instrument to succeed as a government or as a nation, since the most used arguments to justify a war is the defense of sovereignty, the interests of the nation trying not not only to justify a military confrontation, but also to drag civilians to validate a deplorable practice.
It is necessary to say that no war, regardless of its starting reasons, has left great achievements to those involved, at least in my way of thinking, since it does not matter who wins and who loses the wars, it only leaves a bleak panorama and irreparable losses for civilians. and soldiers who never asked to enter into a confrontation, since wars are almost always indicated by the whims or desire for power of a leader or a small handful of them, the rest have to suffer the consequences of something they did not ask to deal with.
The war and its deaths.
Only in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine since 2014, according to wikipedia data, between 40,000 and 80,000 thousand people have died, if we add to these data that there are 57 active armed conflicts to date in the world, the number of deaths around the world is multiplies exponentially, it is devastating data for humanity.
No argument justice so much desolation, death and destruction. We get these data on the internet, but they can be higher and beyond that. How do those who are in a nation in conflict live it?... Surely it is horrible!

The economic impact
"The IMF points out that Ukraine's GDP could fall by up to 35% in 2022, and it is estimated that around 4 million people have left the country in the first four weeks of war, a figure that will increase if the conflict continues. Russia, for its part, would face a drop of at least 8.0% as a result of the impact of the strong sanctions in force."
I do not intend in this article to overwhelm you with data that you possibly know, I want to let you know from my point of view the devastating consequences of a war, since an armed conflict not only leaves irresponsible damage in terms of loss of life as a consequence of attacks with weapons, but also destroys the economy of the countries involved, production stops, food supplies are cut, leaving as a consequence hunger and displacement of a population that, although it manages to survive artillery attacks, will emigrate to other countries where in most of the cases will be victims of discrimination, rejection and xenophobia.
So to those who died from weapons attacks, we must add the children who die from hunger and malnutrition, as well as those who are victims of shipwrecks or organized crime trying to reach other countries to escape the horror of war.
In conclusion
Friends, we all know the destructive power of war, it destroys lives, the economy, it destroys dreams, purposes.
Even those who manage to survive, their lives will never be the same again; war is destroying our future and now with the greatest powers at the gates of a possible armed conflict. Are we getting closer to annihilation with nuclear or biological weapons?
We must reflect on this whole matter and pray for the good judgment of these ambitious leaders.
Hello @fucho80
War is a big problem, it really affects everything we can imagine, and unfortunately in a very negative way for society in general.
But such it seems that the leaders don't care about it at all, proving that indeed, some mental illness they have.
War affects everyone, even those not directly involved in one way or the other. Despite k knowing that a range of 40 to 80 k people has died as a direct result of this war, some people still clamor for it as that's how they become rich. so pathetic
