3 LIFE LESSONS I learned from Taking Silhouette Photography

in #life7 years ago (edited)

I always have a thing for silhouettes. Not just because it looks really marvelous, but for these 3 deeper reasons:

  1. Taking outdoor silhouettes like this especially with a beautiful horizon for a background cannot just be taken on any time of the day. It has to be that golden hour when the night and day are competing. Which teaches me a great lesson of PATIENCE . Not everything that is beautiful you can get in an instant. You have to work hard for it and must wait for the right time.

  1. Again as mentioned above, these shots are mostly taken during sunsets or sunrise and these view are just so stunning. And although it is half darkness, it tells me that life is still beautiful or even more wonderful when there is darkness or bad times in it. It teaches me to be GRATEFUL not just for the happy moment but also for the sad ones.

  2. And lastly, it teaches me HUMILITY . When you take silhouette photos, your subject only takes shape and in plain black color and nothing else. No face, no distinction, no race identified. Just the marvelous sky, the view, whatever it is that is bigger than the subject, bigger than you -- is all that takes colors. Which tells me that in the eyes of the heavens, of God that is, we are all equal and that our lives are added color and vibrance when it is surrounded by His presence.
