My birthday is the one day of the year that is always special to me. It brings back fond memories of my mother who laid the foundation for many happy birthdays to follow through the years.

On the morning of your birthday, you will wake up with the sounds of "Happy birthday my darling and many, many more" It was something like that. I cannot remember who the artist was and would have wanted to play the same song for my children on their birthdays, but instead, I am singing "Happy birthday" to them and they are also singing happy birthday to me over the phone, which always brings happy tears to my eyes.
Birthdays should not be seen as a reminder of getting older, but it must be a real celebration.

Every birthday card is special, I always imagine that the person who bought the card must have spent quite some time to choose the perfect card for me. You simply do not grab the first best card, but you go through quite a number of cards to find that very special one. I treat every phone call with the same awesomeness, because the person who phones you, must have made a real effort to remember your special day. The same goes for presents that you receive, this also takes time, going from one shop to another until you find what you think will be the perfect gift.
This is why my birthdays are always special because my family and friends contribute to the success of the day.
My husband works in Zambia and he was the first one to phone me. I received my first present from my domestic helper and her 4-year old child, who sang 'happy birthday' to me! I received a bag full of rich body creams, bubble bath, and chocolates, things that I love!

My children invited themselves for dinner tonight and I can sense something is cooking, they are all very secretive!. Will tell you tomorrow!
