New Sneakers

in #footwear9 years ago

When I left my job in May I wanted to pick up a new pair of shoes but since the footwear department had gone down the tubes they’re weren’t carrying anything for me. There are certain style of running sneakers that works well with my foot and of course the company stopped carrying them. I usually had to settle for New Balance. I have nothing against that brand I’ve had great results with some styles but others are hit or miss. I have the rare combination of a wider than average foot with high arches. The Nike Zoom Vomero was built for me except that in my previous work environment I risked popping the air chamber with EAS pins. The price point was another issue altogether. The brand I came to love was Saucony! While I no longer run I do put on enough mileage on my feet so I respect companies that stay true to running. They make shoes for runners by runners. When my store did carry the wide width Cohesion I’d pick it up because for the price it did the job. I was able to walk to work in comfort and they were durable enough.

Now that I’m trying to create my hiking and drinking show I needed new shoes ASAP. Money isn’t tight, it’s what happens in a cartoon when things are too tight for too long and the digit just shrivels ups makes a noise and becomes dust in the wind. On Amazon I went looking for the cheapest trail shoe possible and I came across a brand called Tesla Gear. They had one for $30 and I figured I’d give it a shot. The reviews were positive and chances are I’ve already worn worse. Yes, I’ve gone on a hike in my Chuck Taylors. So while I was out and about today my new TF-T320 arrived. Normally I have to get wide or even extra wide when it comes to certain sneakers because of the way they’re cut but there are a few brands that I can go with a medium. I’ve never been a big fan of determining the width of a person’s foot with the Branock Device but it’s the best that typical retailers will use. I land in between a D and an E so better with wide but the toe box on the T320 provides me with enough room where I can get by with the medium width. I probably have new shoe bias at the moment but they’re feeling really good. Not the best because there are maybe 2 shoes I reserve for that praise but I think I’m going to like these a lot. They might be one of the lightest trail shoes I’ve worn. I’ve got a lot of meat on my legs so no matter how fit I get I have that potential to gas pretty quickly so I like my to keep the weight down when it comes to footwear. I can’t wait to explore with them.

I love the look and the aggressive tread but below is a PSA image. Don't let your sneakers get to this level before you replace them. I am a trained professional that can endure the punishment.
