Breathtaking Boldt Castle (Original Photography)
I had the opportunity to cruise the St. Lawrence River separating eastern United States and Canada. Nestled in Alexandria Bay in upstate New York is the majestic (and sometimes quirky) looking Boldt Castle and boat house.
The story goes that George Boldt, who was a millionaire hotel developer, built the castle in 1900 as a gift to his wife to be used as a summer home in the beautiful waters of the St.Lawrence. Unfortunately she passed away just before the construction was complete. In his despair he stopped construction and let the paradise mansion sit vacant for 70 years.
It was a pleasure cruising by this marvel and snapping some photos. The photos are all original works taken by me personally using my Canon S2 IS 6.0-72.0 mm. I hope you enjoy them too. If you want to learn more about Boldt Castle their website is http://www.boldtcastle.com/.
