Building A Recycled Chicken Coop: Day 2

Day 2! So things have been pretty active around here, and I am piecing this chicken coop together a little bit at a time. Today I am adding to the top. I am adding a ridge beam with some supports.
I had a good time today because this thing is starting to really come together. I used a 4 x 4 piece of pine as a "ridge beam" or sorts. I finagled some 2 x 4's and a 2 x 6 to be the supports on the front and the back. I have them at a 45° on the outside and should add alot of space inside.
I also added a window to the back side. I found this old window in the owners barn across the street. It is a two panel glass window with a wooden frame. So I used a highly scientific approach (sarcasm) and measured the window against the wood and cut a hole with the saw.
I attached the window by screwing the frame directly into the boards. This actually worked out pretty well. When I screwed the window into the boards it pulled them all together. So I am able to use every piece as a way to hold the thing all together.
When it comes to putting a chicken coop together there are a couple of thongs to think about. Are the chickens safe? Are they dry? Are they comfortable? That is atleast what I think about. I think this should really be able to take care of a few birds!
Thanks for joining me for this recycled chicken coop update. If you have any questions or would like more explanation about something I have done, please let me know!
Be well
