Where The GPS Ends...

in #adventure4 years ago

The sun was just coming up and we knew that adventure was ahead. Last weekend we celebrated mother's day and took Stacie D (@freedomtowrite) out for an adventure.

The van was loaded up, and we were packed and ready. We had food, water, chairs, and a GPS. The best part is that we were driving some place where the GPS didn't work!

The kids were rested and the dogs were in rare form. Everyone knew that something awesome was coming, but didn't quite know how we were going to get there. The objective was adventure and pizza. Everyone was for sure excited about the pizza part.

So we headed out to find some places that we have never seen before. The bummer is that we actually forgot that we had been to the first stop before.....that didn't stop the fun though.

We took some time to bust out the new magnets and see what we could pull up from the bottom of the river. We have only used them a couple of times, but they are so much fun. We mostly caught iron rocks. We also caught a rusty old nail and a small piece of bailing wire. I also caught a keeper!!

We spent a good amount of time playing around there, and there was still more to come. We knew the end destination, but we didn't have a route picked out. We decided that we would just take the route through the hills, enjoy the scenery, and stop at any water that we might find.

Our next great place to stop was a lot smaller. There were no fancy bridges. Just shallow and slow flowing water. I found some real peace sitting out in the water and playing with George. The bright sun makes me look angry, but I was the furthest from that.

It all went exactly to plan. That was it....no plan. We took an opportunity to live life, and we did one of Stacie D's favorite things....we wandered.

Thanks again for joining us on our adventure. Stay tuned.

Be well
