How To : Replace Light Bulbs

in #dtube4 years ago (edited)

When it comes to some of the most basic aspects of life, they are often over looked. I love doing how to videos because I never know who they might help.

Today I am walking through the basic idea of changing a light build. This isn't sarcasm, but real tips.

I want to start by walking through the the actual changing of the bulb as well as how to remove the cover.

Some lights are open and the bulbs are easy to access, and others are enclosed in a type of globe. These gloves are held on with some sort of a decorative nut and washer.

It is important to keep one hand on the globe while the other is taking the retaining nut off. It is a real risk of falling and potentially breaking.

When removing and replacing the light bulb, be mindful of how tight that the bulb is screwed in. If it is in too tight and you are having trouble removing it, you may have an issue and actually accidentally squeeze the bulb and it break.

When replacing the bulb make sure to not force it in. If it doesn't start easily..do not force it! That is a terrible idea. Again, it can break. If it doesn't start to thread easily you can try to back it out and start over.

When you put the globe back on you will need to hold the globe with one hand and then thread with the other. You will feel the globe seat onto the fixture. Make sure that it is sealed all around and in the correct position. Make sure to not over tighten the nut, you could crack and break the globe.

I hope that these tips will help someone and I look forward to the next how to.

If you have any other tasks or how to ideas that you would like to see, please leave me a comment below!
