Night blooming cactus flowers

Growing cactus can be a rewarding experience when they flower, sometimes the size of the flower can be quite unexpected. There are many colors, shapes and smells. Some that bloom on Christmas day, some that bloom only at night.

It took a few years of them being in the ground before they flowered.

They will open and close depending on their pollinators food schedule.

I did not see any, but I hear these flowers use bats to pollinate.

The tops of some cactus can be completely covered in flowers, filling all the space. They can look like a crown.
