The Poet - a new poem

Some say that the poet is filled with great talent
His words have seen battles both noble and gallant.
He wrote a great poem on his love of a tree
That it had more beauty than his poetry.

He wrote about daffodils that appeared as a host.
It gave cause to celebrate as he wrote a toast
To the beauty he’d found before his eyes,
To nature’s wonders - and the stars in the skies.

The poet faced issues both dark and dreary.
He tells us it made him feel weak and weary.
Much darkness found in some lines of his writing.
Though his troubled words, we still find inviting.

She wrote that her grave wasn’t where she would be.
That we should not stand there and think wistfully.
Instead look around at the wonders of being
And know there’s a part of her in what you’re seeing.

The poet writes words both concise and revealing;
Provides us great wit with the scenes they are stealing.
Life is the canvas and a word is life’s brush stroke.
It may be the poet is a writer who’s awoke.
