Introduction |

It's a great pleasure to be presenting my first article in the Steemit Iron Chef community and this would be in participation in the ongoing engagement challenge. In this piece, I will be sharing with you a Steemian I would love to have a special lunch with it. Let's roll!
My Special Lunch Friend |
---|
I have numerous people, I mean Steemians that I'd like to share a lunch with but among all, I have chosen the user @inspiracion to be my special invitee to a lunch. I had a long list of users for this special lunch but had to narrow down the list to @inspiracion.

I would love to have this special lunch with a lot of Nigerian Steemians but most of them must have tasted or tried the meal I planned for the lunch. I think the user I have chosen is just perfect for a foreign friend, not only that, I have been in the same virtual working environment with the user before, we have discussed even beyond Steemit duties to our personal lives and she just deserves the special lunch.
The user is a hardworking, cool-headed, and strong person I have known on the platform, considering these points, she would be a great person to have lunch with such that we can have time to discuss Steemit and other topics pertaining to individual lives.
The Lunch |

Different regions of the world have recipes that are peculiar to them, I mean special meals that make them distinctive to other parts of the world, meals they are known for. I could have gone for meals peculiar to most parts of the world, you can think of varieties of rice and other components, but I want the user to taste something extremely different.
In the Southwestern part of Nigeria and as a typical Yoruba man, we are known for a special meal known as Amala. Amala is made from yam flour, consider this as the flour used to make Arepas in Venezuela but this is made from yam which has undergone partial cooking, and fermentation and eventually comes out as flour after milling, sieved, and packaging.
This meal is eaten differently, it's not something you add fillings to rather it's cooked, softened using a stirrer to be free from all lumps, and served with soups. The soups for eating Amala are Chicken Stew (Beef, Fish, and so on), Jute Leaf (known for its immune and bone-building nutrients such as Calcium and other Vitamins), and beans soup (locally known as Gbegiri). The bean soup undergoes rigorous cooking, sieved, and includes adding some other ingredients.

Above is the image of the Amala made from yam flour and all the soups discussed earlier. Amala can be served separately on a plate, likewise, the soups (combined), one cuts the Amala and dip it into the soup for consumption, it can also be served all together while the Amala would be deeply immersed in the soups.

Homemade or Restaurant? What Drinks? |
---|
Being a very popular indigenous meal, there are a lot of standard restaurants in my town that sells this special meal, in fact, they are just numerous in the Southwestern part of Nigeria. There is free small data that shows popular local food joints and restaurants where users can get this meal across the region.
And for this purpose, I'm definitely preparing the meal at home to make the process hygienic as much as possible and utilize the ingredients in perfect proportions. That being said, my lunch partner won't participate in the meal preparation, I will do it all by myself.
The best drink type to enjoy this meal with is fruit juice and I have this special juice I love so much and I'm quite sure my lunch partner would definitely love it. The name of the fruit juice is Chivita 100% Pineapple juice (no sugar), this is a great juice safe for consumption without artificial additives. Chivita is available for real apples, oranges, oranges/pineapples, and so on but pineapples would be chosen for the lunch.

Desserts, Coffee and Chicken Arepas |
---|
After the meal, I'm sure to offer her a fruit salad of pineapple, coconut, watermelon, apple, and strawberry. That being said, I understand how important Arepas are to Venezuelans as they can consume it any time of the day. I will be preparing chicken Arepas (filled with chicken) and creamy coffee for my lunch partner.
The chicken Arepas and coffee would not be served immediately after the lunch, not until about a few hours after the meal to ensure there has been adequate digestion of the food consumed at lunch.
Conclusion |
---|
In conclusion, there are a lot of numerous meals that are universal across the world but I want @inspiracion to taste something unique to my tribe which I believe would be a great experience for her. The meal is going to be homemade to ensure a great level of hygiene during the preparation. I hereby invite @dexsyluz, @dave-hanny, and @preye2 to participate in the contest. Thank you.
