steemchurch: Love your enemy as yourself

Hello brothers of @steemchurch it is a pleasure for me to be here with you, today I will talk about Love your enemy as yourself

The second table of the decalogue states: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:39). This love that God demands is far from the class or conception of sentimental love that moves the affections of human beings. There are different kinds of love: love eros, which refers to sexual desire and passion between a couple; the stergo love, the one we feel for our parents, children, brothers and other relatives; the love fioleo, is the affection between the friends, those people that we appreciate although they do not take our blood; agape love, which is the kind of love that the Lord wants us to cultivate, because it has nothing to do with feelings, is the selfless and sacrificial Christian service for humanity. Only the unconditional love of God impels us to obey Him to the extreme of love to our enemies.

They say that love is the motor that moves the world. I believe it, because it is what pushes us to do good, to share what we have, to make the success of others our own triumph, especially if those others are our loved ones. Now, the great challenge lies in behaving in the same way with the people who have done us wrong. It is difficult, for example, to respond kindly to the neighbor who speaks ill, and it takes a lot of courage to forgive a rapist or a murderer.

It is a Christian commandment to love our enemies, to bless those who curse us, to do good to those who hate us, and to pray for those who abuse and persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Jesus commands us to love as the master. If we are his dissipated, we must imitate him in everything so that we are recognized as true children of God: "This is my commandment: That you love one another, as I have loved you" (John 15:12).

the Christian life is for the brave. There is no merit in doing good to those who are good to us, because it is normal and natural to help people that we appreciate. what makes us different from others is the love of Christ that exceeds all knowledge and leads us to be filled with the fullness of God to love and forgive especially those who offend us. Ask the father of glory sensitivity to look at your enemies through his eyes. He forgives and has compassion with everyone. He makes the sun rise on the bad and the good, and rains on the just and unjust.

A new commandment I give you: that you love one another; As I have loved you, so also do you love one another (John 13:34).

God loves us, not because we are good but because He is good

When Jesus looks at His executioners from the cross and offers forgiveness, can there be any doubt of His love for them?
Praying for your enemy opens you up to the work of the Holy Spirit in your heart.

@STEEMCHURCH

there is no doubt about how much love Jesus felt for his executioners to the point of forgiving them for his crucifixion,
we must all pray because it is the way to communicate directly with God, and he taught us that by loving the progeny we have a purer heart and will open the doors of heaven

What Jesus is telling us is hard, but it’s not impossible. And it’s necessary, too, because ultimately he is inviting us not only to forgiveness and charity but to something else: freedom and happiness.

So you have heard that it was said, and you have heard that it was said to you by Jesus, who wants you to be happy, hence, we must love!

So we must love each other, we are all children of God
