Russian Propaganda
I dont know how things could get this bad this fast. Nowadays we hear the news stories about Russia everyday, a constant propaganda everywhere. And the articles never provide a balanced perspective. All we hear is Russia poisoning people, influencing our elections, creating fake news, dividing our population and wanting to destroy our democracy and society.
How long do people need to hear this everyday until they start to be afraid when they see a russian? Most of my friends are now politically firmly anti-russian. They still do not personally hate or fear russians, but they are not a represantative sample of people. If the propaganda continues for a few years the hate will enter subconsciously and we will start to identify russians with all kind of negative stereotypes planted into our minds by the media.
But russians are just people like anybody else. Grouping people into categories by borders is pure stupidity. Their political leadership sucks; so does any single one on the whole planet. But the people are just normal people that do not hate us and that just want to be able to support themselves and their families.
The last time we had a situation like this was during the cold war. Sting sung "I hope the russians love their children too".... . What level of dehumanisation is necessary to even doubt that an entire group of people might not love their children?
What is happening now is the invention of a new enemy. Powerful interest want conflict with russia and to get there we need to start hating them to support any action demanded from us. But this conflict is not in the interest of the people, neither here nor in russia. Our common goal is peaceful existence, free trade and common prosperity. War is the interest of people that want to controll us and live off our productivity. When people are not owned but free, there is no point in fighting over them.
Always question what is shown in the news. Do not assume we are the good guys. We are just like everyone else and if we act as if we have a special duty or responsibility something is seriously wrong. And finally people are not nationalities. We are all individuals. Some happen to live under this rule, some under another. The fight of our rulers is not our fight. If you believe that you are just a mindless pawn in their game.
The Russian population is now 60% individualist*(no longer socialist), which could mean russia has fewer socialists than the US.
Governments in Russia, China, Vietnam, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, Spain, S. Africa and US better all stop the propaganda and recognize individual liberty, or individuals will be coming for them.
I have considerable respect that the average Russian knows this already.
