The Ghost in the Machine Gets The Boot
Lets get away from the price of Bitcoin and why Steem does not rise with the tide.
And take a minute to contemplate the conscious mind.
That great unknown that drives the whole great market of humanity.
And its twin, the even greater unknown, the unconscious mind.
Here must lie the Ghost in the Machine.
Our soul perhaps. To give it a tag or marker
But where?
Hidden in the depths of our unfeeling brain with its billion of neurons and composed of 75% water.
Or does it reside outside, somewhere perhaps on the great astral highway.
Beloved by esoteric philosophies and mystery religions.
Or is it just flitting Shadows on some cheap version of Plato's cave wall.
When we die, kick the bucket, expire, Pass away, or ascend, if you're a fan of Stargate.
We'd like to think our action packed full 3D multi color consciousness, goes along as well.
It's all part of the standard, moving on up, package.
Right?
Nope.
Very wrong, it seems.
Now we are told, the vast majority of our consciousness, is just being generated by our own internal neuron network.
Bollox!
If that's the case, there is not much of a package left to ascend to nirvana, or where ever we have booked the next Astral ticket.
Just a condensed well scrubbed kit, containing a sort of kick starter pack, for our next incarnation reboot.
No wonder Houdini or nobody for that matter, ever made it back.
But don't panic, just yet.
The Jury is still out on this theory.

Most experts think that consciousness can be divided into two parts: the experience of consciousness (or personal awareness), and the contents of consciousness, which include things such as thoughts, beliefs, sensations, perceptions, intentions, memories and emotions.
It's easy to assume that these contents of consciousness are somehow chosen, caused or controlled by our personal awareness – after all, thoughts don't exist until until we think them. But in a new research paper in Frontiers of Psychology, we argue that this is a mistake.
We suggest that our personal awareness does not create, cause or choose our beliefs, feelings or perceptions. Instead, the contents of consciousness are generated 'behind the scenes' by fast, efficient, non-conscious systems in our brains.
All this happens without any interference from our personal awareness, which sits passively in the passenger seat while these processes occur.
Put simply, we don't consciously choose our thoughts or our feelings – we become aware of them.

Many people believe that man has two minds: the conscious mind, the unconscious mind or the so-called subconscious, and this belief is wrong; each person has one mind but performs two different functions

Your mind wrote this post and at the same time by same mind was thinking about the price of Steemit
That means you have one mind to do two jobs.
Thanks for taking the time to make a comment. And yes I was multitasking when I wrote my piece;D~
