Here's why I think SteemIt is the next up and coming thing.
I was introduced to this incredible platform just a mere 3 weeks ago. And it was by complete, total accident. I was bored one evening, browsing on another platform, and I saw someone had said, "If you had $100k to invest, where would you put it?" Someone replied with , "Ethereum!"
I questioned, "What in the world is that?" Then, down the rabbit hole I went. After multiple comments with each other, another SteemIt user introduced me here and told me this was, quote, the easiest way to get a digital wallet. What? I was still learning what all of that meant, but I was lead here, literally, for a wallet. I had no idea what this place was.
Once I arrived, I knew I'd end up being here for a very, very long time. :)
I've been here just 3 weeks and yet it feels more like 3 years. I absolutely adore this place and I wanted to share with you why I personally think we are on the track to being the next big thing.
1 - Audience.
The audience here is incredibly positive. I love it. A lot of platforms I've been on have a lot of immature users. To give you an example, if someone doesn't agree with your opinion, you get downvoted to oblivion and are basically silenced. Here? No. If they don't agree with your opinion, they just politely state what their position is and you're welcome to have a mature discussion about it. There's never any hostility in the SteemIt environment.
2 - Money.
If you're submitting your own things on other upvoting websites - why? Why have a desire to earn fake points when you can earn, yes, real money?
3 - Uncensored.
Can't say much more than that single word.
4 - Potential.
SteemIt is a little over one year old. Early adopters, much? :) The alexa rank continues to increase. More and more users continue to sign up and transition from other platforms. Because, like I said, why wouldn't you, with all of these perks?
We are on the forefront of something amazing.
I'm so happy to not only be witnessing it, but to be a part of it.
All of the points you mentioned have caused me to absolutely adore Steemit. Been here for a month, myself. I can do without trolls and the horrendous overall vibes on other social media platforms. Of course, it will likely become a bigger issue the more people come on board, but as opposed to getting "banned" on Facebook, Twitter, etc. (punishment based system, little to no reward for success other than intangible "likes") there is an actual reputation system that puts (most) users on their best behavior.
Of course, they only behave mostly because they want to get paid, so it can lead to ass-kissing/ brown-nosing behavior, but to me, it's better than the alternative. I hope that the dev team will keep introducing more ways to combat spam and plagiarism and keep Steemit such an awesome place to build community. It's cool because there's tons of people with completely opposite points of view here, and for the most part they tend to stay in their own "hollers," after all if you don't like something, why not just move on?
I share your absolute excitement for the potential of this platform. You can feel it among many of the users and it's infectious. Imagine doing what you are passionate about, and actually making a viable living to the point where now you have the time and opportunity to help others get there too, and collaborate with them.

I also agree. This platform goes further. It is almost at the early stages of a surging society that it's defining its behavior and rewards systems.

Sure, you did the right decision. Here, you come across intellectual ideas, meet friends around the world and get paid for your content, comments, upvotes which other platforms don't do.

Steemit is really an amazing platform, the amount of talent and enthuse individuals on board currently and to come, will make this social media community a force to be reckoned with in the long run.

Of course everyone is positive. You dont normally upvote someone who is negative do you? Overall though I agree and am enjoying steemit as well.
