I FINALLY GOT A XIAOMI PHONE

Hey guys!!! So today I wanted to talk about my love for xiaomi phones. Well if you know me then you'll know that I've been a bit obsessed with them for about 2 years now. It started in 2016 when I was looking for a phone to buy and I was terribly dissatisfied with everything that the prime phone companies in Nigeria had to offer, particularly Tecno and Infinix because at the time, in my opinion, they offered low quality phones for rather unreasonable prices. Getting a reasonable Samsung, HTC, Sony was out of the question because they were too expensive, and I had no love for iPhones.

At first I came across Asus phones and I was in love with them, they were so slick and classy and seeing as they were a trusted laptop brand in Nigeria, I figured that their phones wouldn't be any different. I kept on watching review after review of different Asus phones and then in one of them I came across a Xiaomi phone, the Xiaomi redmi note 4 to be exact. I was completely blown away by its specs and at the time, and at the time it was less than 50k.

Ah!!! I told myself that this was the phone for me so the next thing to do was to find where to get it. I checked Jumia and Konga and as of then they didn't have a single Xiaomi phone available, heck, they'd probably never even heard of it. Not giving up, I decided to try and get it through AliExpress, I found it there and at a very reasonable price. Everything was set for me to buy the phone but then I basically lost all my funding during the Ponzi madness of 2016/2017.

I resigned myself to using my blackberry till I got enough money to buy the Xiaomi.

FAST FORWARD TO 2018 January

The crypto market was fluorishing and so was the price of SBD and by the end of the month I purchased a Xiaomi redmi 5 from AliExpress and I was so happy about it...little did I know that this was the beginning of a nightmare. Apparently the phone got shipped during the Chinese New year and somehow disappeared. After waiting for weeks for the phone to come, I realised that it wasn't gonna happen. I immediately requested for a refund from AliExpress and had to waste close to 60 days before I received it, owing to the fact that someone in their customer care unit made an error an approved my refund, but forgot to actually input any details for the refund, thus the refund was approved, but on their database, there was no amount to refund.

I felt even worse when about 2 weeks ago, my brother had me order a Xiaomi phone for him. The phone brand that I'd been hankering over for two years would first enter the hands of my kid brother who knew nothing of it.

Well last week Monday, the refund came and it couldn't have come any sooner seeing as I got robbed last month and have been phoneless ever since. Barely 30mins after I got the refund, I went to Jumia and placed an order for the Xiaomi Redmi note 5a prime which wasnt as good as the previous 2 I wanted, but would still run circles around any Tecno or Infinix phone in its price segment. It was on Jumia express so by Wednesday I received it and trust me when I say I was not disappointed. Let me show you some of the specs

Overall the phone is great, the batter lasts through the day with 5-15 percent left, the UI is perhaps the fastest I've ever come across, MIUI 9 is absolutely amazing and extra features like dual apps(have multiple accounts of the same app on your phone), screen recorder, parallel space(partition your phones memory and create a sort of second phone with different apps on your device) are also available.
