Entrare a far parte del Team di @italygame è stato per me un'emozione paragonabile a quella provata da uno sportivo alla prima chiamata della propria nazionale. Ho subito pensato che per rimanere all'altezza del fantastico lavoro dei ragazzi, che hanno amministrato alla grande la nostra community per tutti questi anni, mi sarei dovuto inventare qualcosa di nuovo e coinvolgente, possibilmente in grado di attirare un buon numero di persone.

Da sportivo, il primo pensiero è andato subito ad un contest a tema calcistico. In fondo, come lo sport ci insegna, un po' a tutti diverte giocare e misurarsi con gli altri, se poi lo si può fare con l'obiettivo di vincere anche qualcosa, l'adrenalina aumenta e la domenica sportiva diventa non più solo l'occasione per seguire i risultati della nostra squadra del cuore, ma anche per scoprire i punti messi a segno nei vari giochi a cui si partecipa.

Così è nata l'idea della ITALYGAME CUP^TM, che come nei più grandi tornei prende il nome proprio dallo sponsor unico dei premi in palio nel gioco, il Witness, @italygame. L'idea alla base del progetto è quella di realizzare un contest facile e immediato anche per chi non fosse troppo avvezzo alle vicende del pallone italiano, in grado di coinvolgere tutti, dalla prima all'ultima settimana, regalando l'occasione anche agli ultimi entrati o a chi si fosse accorto del gioco in ritardo, l'occasione di poter comunque lottare per la conquista dei premi settimanali e finali.

Alla prima settimana del torneo hanno partecipato 16 concorrenti. Da quella che è stata la mia esperienza personale in precedenti occasioni simili, il primo episodio di un torneo "a tappe" non riscuote mai un interesse esagerato, ma questa volta la partecipazione, sicuramente anche grazie agli ottimi premi in palio, è andata oltre alle aspettative: non solo è stata già raggiunta la quota play-off, di dieci partecipanti, ma anche quella in grado di "salvare" il percorso secondario del torneo di riserva, così com'era stato studiato fin dall'inizio.

Un grande ringraziamento a tutti voi per aver rotto il ghiaccio e, mi raccomando, cercate di iscrivervi a tutte le prossime edizioni (magari coinvolgendo anche qualche amico), dato che anche il numero di partecipazioni può avere una grande rilevanza ai fini della classifica.

I 16 concorrenti della prima settimana sono così suddivisi:

• 7 Italia (media punti: 3,85)
• 3 Bangladesh (media punti: 4,33)
• 3 Nigeria (media punti: 5,33)

Complimenti quindi agli amici della Nigeria, che per quanto riguarda l'ipotetico confronto tra "nazionali", si porta al primo posto della classifica, seguita da Bangladesh, Venezuela e Italia. L'India insegue per il momento al quinto posto, ma ha potuto schierare un solo partecipante. Sono certo che con le prossime edizioni altri amici si uniranno, migliorando la classifica del loro Paese.

Il risultato più sorprendente di giornata è stata la vittoria dell'Udinese con due goal di scarto sul Milan (indovinato da un solo partecipante), mentre quello più difficile da pronosticare, per le ampie dimensioni del punteggio, la vittoria del Napoli, con quattro reti di scarto sul Torino (nessun partecipante ha realizzato punti su questa partita).

Joining the @italygame team was an emotion comparable to that felt by an athlete when called up to their national team for the first time. Immediately, I thought that in order to live up to the fantastic work of the team who have managed our community so well all these years, I needed to come up with something new and engaging, capable of attracting a good number of people.

As an athlete, my first thought went straight to a football-themed contest. After all, as sport teaches us, playing and competing with others is enjoyable for everyone, and if you can do it with the goal of winning something, the adrenaline increases and the Sunday sports day becomes not only an opportunity to follow the results of our favorite team, but also to discover the points scored in the various games we participate in.

Thus was born the idea of the **ITALYGAME CUP**^**TM**, which, like in the biggest tournaments, takes its name from the sole sponsor of the prizes at stake in the game, Witness, @italygame. The idea behind the project is to create a contest that is easy and immediate even for those who are not very familiar with Italian football, capable of involving everyone, from the first to the last week, giving even the last entrants or those who have noticed the game late, the opportunity to still compete for the weekly and final prizes.

In the first week of the tournament, 16 contestants participated. From my personal experience in similar previous occasions, the first episode of a "stage" tournament never generates exaggerated interest, but this time the participation, surely thanks to the excellent prizes at stake, went beyond expectations: not only has the playoff quota of ten participants already been reached, but also the one able to "save" the reserve tournament path, as planned from the beginning.

A big thank you to all of you for breaking the ice, and I recommend that you try to sign up for all the upcoming editions (maybe even involving a friend), as the number of entries can also have great relevance for the ranking.
