Operational Rules | The Rules Part 5
The Rules for Secure Operations
These are not mine, this is a compilation of knowledge over years of experience and study. Mistakes have been made and sometimes we learn the hard way. I am attempting to help so that you don't have to take the same path. Some of these are self evident but still are of note. This will be a multi-part series, as there will be many rules to learn from, as there have been many lessons. ABC. Always Be Careful.
Rule 49: The only kind of marketing you need is an amazing product. (Leo Babauta)
Rule 50: Do not publish your life online, keep your life private.
Rule 51: Disconnect completely once in a while.
Rule 52: Live simply.
Rule 53: The GORUCK Rule - Under promise and over deliver.
Rule 54: When in doubt, C4. (Jamie Hyneman, Mythbusters)
Rule 55: Progress comes to those who train and train; reliance on secret techniques will get you nowhere. (Morihei Ueshiba)
Rule 56: Courage is a special kind of knowledge: the knowledge of how to fear what ought to be feared and how not to fear what ought not to be feared. (David Ben-Gurion)
Rule 57: Don’t ever write a check with your mouth you can’t cash with your ass. (Wiseman). See Rule 6.
Rule 58: If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. (Wiseman)
Rule 59: Some people just need a high-five. In the face. With a chair. (Carrie Adams)
Rule 60: The bad guys don’t obey our security policies.
These rules don't have central them, but I think you can take away a focus on simplicity and reliance on the basics. Again we are reminded to not overlook the small things and to hope for the best but train for the worst. Thank you for your continued support. See the original 12 and the following part 2, part 3, and part 4.
