Snacking is my middle name

Hey Steemian,

I am on a 2 weeks vacation, I deserve a break after baking hundreds of babkas and tarts for Christmas. These days, I just want to relax, to find inspiration in recipes, plans for bakery, for myself... you know the sh...t: New Year's Resolutions.
And what better way to spend your time than snacking and working?

So, I got fueled with my favorite snacks of all time (except chips): cumin pretzels. In Romania, they're so popular and loved, my grandma bakes for me every Christmas. This is the smell of Christmas for me.
Ingredients:
200 g butter at room temperature (you can use lard instead)
500 flour
salt
150 ml yogurt or buttermilk
3 eggs
100 g salted cheese (cheddar, parmesan)
cumin

1. Mix the flour with butter until you get a crumbly texture.
2. In the middle of it, add the yogurt and eggs.
3. Mix it with a fork or with your hands (it's very nice to kneed) and sprinkle the cheese. When the dough comes together, let it rest in the fridge for at least one hour.
4. Roll the dough into rectangle 10 x 20 cm and cut into 3 cm strings.
5. Fold the string and twist each string into a pretzel shape. Or you can use your imagination.
6. Sprinkle the cumin over the pretzels and bake them for 15 minutes at 180C.

You can keep these goodies for more than 3 weeks in a paper bag.
