Season's End (Original Photography)

in #photography5 years ago

Howdy,

Autumn has almost come to an end, here in southern Minnesota. Where prairie has been preserved, the tall grasses and twiggy plants have become scraggly and tough. They certainly look different without their spring and summer floral adornment, but they're still pretty in their way.

Surprisingly, the temperatures warmed up a bit and there were even a few insects flying around. The spiders have also been leaving webs between the branches. The next image is the same species as the last. The sun streamed between the branches, just for a few seconds, lighting up the spiny puffs quite nicely.

Oh So Spikey

These tough, stocky beams were covered in flowers not very long ago. Now, they look almost cactus-like. They are pretty tough, too. They barely swayed when the wind gusted.

There are a lot of tall grasses. This one was in a spot that had a little more sunlight.

Leaving the prairie, I stopped by the waterfall on the other side of the park for a quick photo. I wasn't going to include this one, but it was kind of a fun edit and a little different from my usual style.

With the end of fall has also come an end to unemployment. I am currently completing the last bits of paperwork necessary to start a new position in a non-profit. If everything goes through, I will be starting early next month. Hopefully, dyslexia and poor eyesight won't be too much of a problem.

I love the muted light and mellow look to these. Nice job in captures. So glad you found employ too. Always very stressful, but also exciting when you finally start. Cheers to a nice day as winter comes on in the Prairie areas.

Thanks. We'll see how soon the cold comes. We have been pretty lucky lately, weather-wise. This job should be interesting, once it starts. I just hope I don't have to do too much reading.

Fabulous photos and YAY! Congrats on the job! Will you be moving?

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

You got haikubotted! Ha.

Thanks. St. Peter is only about fifteen miles up the road, so I'll stay in my apartment for the time being. Rent would be more expensive up there, thanks to the private university, and there is more to do in Mankato. Although, there is a pretty nice coffee shop in St. Peter...

I enjoy seeing dried grasses and plants almost as much as flowers! You really captured their beauty! Congratulations on your new job!

Thanks! We'll have to see about the job. It could be fun.

All those dry plants look so nice when the sun shines.
Love the fluffy grass shot!
Good luck in your new job :)

Howdy fotosdenada! Congratulations on the job! What will you be doing? Great photos too!

Thanks! I'm not 100% sure what the job will entail, yet, but mostly getting funding for scholarships and finding students in need of them. They needed someone with Spanish language fluency.

oh very cool that you were able to use your Spanish skills! It sounds like an interesting job. Does it to you? It sounds like it could be a career thing if they pay is right and it's interesting. But I guess you gotta do it for awhile before you know all that.
