What STEEMIT can teach us

Steemit... Where can I start, well I’ll firstly start with a cryptocurrency case - it is one of the only crypto currencys which appears to have a use case which you can actually use. Along with the Golem project Steemit is one of the only projects where you can see the physical use case of the project. Although I feel that the underlying reason why nearly everyone uses the project is because of upvotes...

When you first go on Steemit you are welcomed by the massive pages saying “700$” “1100$” for regular articles, which appear as not to strenuous to create. For example, the first page I saw I believe was an article which someone posted on how to male their perfect chicken curry... I thought wow that looks easy and being the crypto lover I am I just thought - this has a use case, this is physical people use it, it could be big. So I signed up for it and my first set back was that i forgot my username, silly me... I couldnt find it out so I just called it quits because i didnt have another number to use and was very busy at that time to dedicate myself to Steemit.

Fast forward to just over a month ago and me and one of my close freinds search on steemit and realise that there is little on here to do with sport, thats when we create footbllupdates. Although the more that we looked into Steemit the more we realised that it is not easy to gain upvotes and peoples attention on the platform is not easy, and that simply posting football scores would not gain us our end goal of becoming the football/sport page on Steemit... To put it into context we have written many long articles and over the first month have made a healthy profit of 0.5$... So the first lesson is Persistence and will - you have to be fully ready to make massive articles ,comment on peoples posts and immerse yourself through learing about the social media site and what people want to read etc.

The next thing that I believe Steemit teaches us is that we have to find and write about what we are really passionate about, for example I have realised that there is no point in me writing articles about Chelseas summer transfer policy for the summer is because Im am not passionate about it - therefore what I will write about will not be of high enough quality and will not be creative and passionate enough for people to upvote follow and enjoy. Wheras if I write about how we can look at sports and take the lessons from which we learn in sports to real life to make us better for example that would be an article I would enjoy writing so it would come across better and more people would enjoy it. The second lesson which Steemit teaches us is to really find what we love - explore and learn, learn from other people within the community and your progress will come with it.

I belive that the steemit project has well and truly cracked what social media should be to us and everybody - a platform where we can learn, truly socialize with unknown people and build relationships through passions we all share. Most of us like crypto and we all have that in common and i find that this community is welcoming unlike other social media sites which attempt to draw you in suck as snapchat, which I believe people are too attached too. Thank you Steemit and all of you who use the platform becuase the lessons which I have learned here in my tiny time here and which i will come to learn I would not have gained from other social media sites.
