Was englands world cup a succes

So im a british citizen who watched every match (except from the 3rd place play off because well whats the point) and if i were to be told that England would come 4th in the world cup i would be very comvinced that you are wrong... So youwould think that because we came 4th thats good ? Not quite so and heres why...

Inconsistent Harry Kane

Harry Kane was unstopable in the group stages and put in a sturdy performance after the Columbia game although after that results nosed dived, for the next 2 games he didnt even register a single shot on target... after scoring all of his goals against two of the worst teams in the tournament it was questionable to wether his deserved it to some extent. This somewhat led to a disapointing world cup even though he won the golden boot...

Easy easy draws

After loosing to Belgium England had the easiest rounds to the semi finals and although we won both neither were convincing and at the end we got beat fair and square by croatia even if they did have the world class dejan lovren...

The its coming home song...

I didnt know that song even existed until we got to the semis, so a part of me really wishes we didnt get to the semis...

We still didnt win

After the easy draws and being ahead in the semis through an amazing free kick we couldnt finish the job and once again England came home empty handed

So after all of that there are still positives to pick out as this is a very good place to pick up from in the Euros although in 2020 lets hope that we finish the job ...
