Book of success #18: Irreplaceable
I grew up with these words from my mother "why are you always different from the rest, look at your mates, do what they do and stop troubling my life".
This makes it look like I had a mean mother, nah she was cool (she came off as mean to me then though) but at that time she just didn't understand why her first born always choose to go the opposite way when others are not.
To her been different wasn't just one of life choices to make, it makes people notice you alot she'd say, and my mum likes the quiet life, living inconspicuous and well. That's my mum.
Did I change? Yes... And no. Even as a child I knew I had to meet my mum half way and I did. While I still go my own way, do my own things more often than I care for, I do it inconspicuously...lol.
After getting so many beatings from my mama, lol... I learnt to do things quietly and unnoticed.
But in all that, the few times I was noticed by someone or a few, the compliments is all the reward in itself. And I love every single bit of it.
Oh and my mum eased up on me, she later found out that that's just me and I can't be changed.
My mom till dates still tells me things just to see how I'd respond, "you always have something different to say" she say and laugh.
A leopard never looses it's spots!!! Lol
