A couple of redstarts visit the garden
I managed to take a photo of this wild bird on a cable through the window again (using my Canon camera) :
I can recognise a bullfinch or a robin, but this bird looked different.
Around the same time I saw this bird on the ground :
With some help ('thank you, again, dear friend !') I found that both are 'common redstarts', Phoenicurus phoenicurus. Sadly they're not that common any more and according to this website they're on an amber list. This means there aren't that many of them around any more. Either the bird on the ground is a young one or it's a female. I recommend a visit to that site if you'd like to hear them sing - they're lovely birds and they eat spiders so what's not to like.
Thank you for reading.
