The Transformation Of An Icon

When the beach icon died, local artist and sculptor, Marlin Miller carved this magnificent Magnolia Tree into a work of art. Located at one of the entrances to the Destin Boardwalk, it welcomes all who come. Within the tree are displays of many local sea creatures of the area. Included are the giant sea turtles, the mahi mahi, the beautiful and gental dolphin, and even a blue heron, found often just hanging around the docks hoping for a handout. 

Just before this beautiful Magnolia Tree died, four cuttings were taken from the yet living side of the tree. Now, several years latter, all of the cuttings are growing in a greenhouse and will eventually be planted back at the Destin Boardwalk. A beautiful piece of Destin history lives on in many forms.
