Being Prepared For Tomorrow
Beautiful But Early Snowy Day
The unexpected happens, it is life. The question that comes is simple: are you ready? Live happens! Winter comes three months early or the river floods? What have you done to prepare?
Life is not ever going to be a bowl of chocolates, the unplaned happens: Are you ready? The young couple gets married and life is great. They have two incomes and then the news comes, and a baby is born. What have you done to prepare?
Every family should have a plan in case of emergency. Where would your family meet? Who could you call that lives somewhere far enough not to be effected by the same weather disaster. What if you were cut off and were isolated for a few days? Do you have enough food and water for your family for at least a week? Is someone was hurt, do you have basic first aid? Do you keep the top half of the gas tank full or only get gas when it is on E. What is your plan? Or do you have one?
Some Basic Needs I Consider Important For A Week
I have all my legal papers together in one place in a water Proof Container in case I need to leave quickly.
I make sure to have an extra filled propane tank at all times. That is heating, one water heater and cooking.
I keep my batteries for the Trailer full. That gives me at least 4 days of basic electricity.
I keep my water holding tank full and fresh. It is important to change it out at least once a month, when you are hooked to city water and not using it.
Food that is easy to prepare for one week.
Water for cooking and drinking for one week.
Water for sanitation and non-food needs: such as paper towels, toilet paper, dry matches, candels, battery lights, bandaids, medicine, and pet food. What you need depends on your life style and who lives in your home.
When the gas tank gets to half way, fill it up. That way you always have a vehicle with some gas.
Those are some of my most important things, but I have many others that I would miss. Be sure and have atleast some cash in an emergency fund. You never really know what you will need.
Your future is in your hands! What you take time to prepare today, is what you will have tomorrow.
Enjoy the fruits of being prepared,
