What I have learned for crypto from poker

If you are a bit familiar with poker you know the terms upswing and downswing.

An upswing is when everything goes your way. Every draw hits. If you got Aces somebody else is holding Kings.

A downswing is the other way around. Every draw hits as well but for villain. If you hold Kings somebody else is holding Aces and Bubbleboy seems to be your second name.

But this is actually the time to shine

This is the time were the money is won by not loosing more than you have to. There are coolers and just because you running bad you cant fold Aces preflop.

Poker is easy when you running like god and you feel like the best player ever.

On the other hand it seems to be impossible to win if you run bad.

If you catch a good run a drunken monkey can make money.

It is frustrating to sit on a table with a couple of fishes, who are stacking of with middle pair and you cant hit anything.

You might even try to make some fancy plays and 3 barrel bluff the callingstation with Jack high when he called your check raise on the flop.

Why I am reading this? What does this have to do with investing?

He probably would have made money in the crypto space too by throwing poo at a random coin and buying it.

Everyone of us was in a big upswing.

You could pretty much invest in any of the Top 100 coins and made pretty good returns.

I got several messages today asking me if they should sell now, if crypto is dead and how I am doing ( that was nice ).

This is like a downswing. This is your time to shine and prove your strong hands. If you panic sell this is what will cost you money.

I can understand this if this is your first rodeo. I remember mine. Everything is going up till suddenly you can only see red. I had exactly 0 fun during this days. I was afraid I am gonna loose everything. But I hodled through and I am glad I did.

I cant tell you when it will be over or how much coin x will be worth at the end of the year or do a technical analyse of BTC for you. The only thing I can promise you that this will not be the last time you have to go through this and probably not even the worst one.

But in my honest opinion if you cant handel the swings, get out of crypto it will drive you mad.

I know poker players who were really good but could not handle their tilt triggered by the swings poker can have and they had to quite at some point.

If you want to be a professional poker player you have to be very good at losing.

If you want to be a crypto investor you have to handle -30% days
