My steemit future

in #rambling9 years ago

Somewhere down the road I want to try to be a full-time steemian for some months.

But at the moment I struggle a lot to even post once a day and if you take a look at my blog you can see this is going on for a quite a while now.

In my "playbook" consistency and interacting with other members is crucial to a financially successful steemit career.

I always tried to be very honest in my posts and to share my thoughts how and why I want to do certain things in a certain way.

The last 4 weeks I rented out most of my steem through @minnowbooster.

I had a better return as if I would write and curate daily.

But it felt strange...

I have rambled about boosters often enough for now, so I dont want to talk too much about them. I see pros and cons but the biggest con for me is that so much Steempower is locked away and only will give out votes if you pay for it, which is not the purpose of the platform in my eyes.

While renting steempower might be +EV for the renter as long as he is active and curates well and the steempower is not a mercenary.

But it is tempting to delegate it all away again and just be "done with it". But also shortsighted....

Steemit will be as successful as the people it attracts and I want to be a part of shaping that community in a positive way (most of the time).

I dont want to get too much involved into the drama and politics you read here very frequently.

I read an article 1 or 2 weeks ago how unfair steemit is and how desperate the author was to get success here. Complaining and crying he asked for help what he could do, to become more successful.

The answers were pretty clear find your niche and be active. Post and comment regular and upvote people and content you enjoy.

His answers were that this will not work because the whales just upvote each other and nobody cares about his content.

He thought his content was the bomb. I disagree there. I thought it was underwhelming and his last 10+ posts were just bitching and crying.

I said it before and I will say it again : This is a social network. Part popularity contest, part content and I think you need to play both games. Find your people who are willing to make you Prom King and like doing so as they enjoy what you have to say.

Great and honest post! Thanks! Thanks also to @lichtblick for showing this :-) Upvotet, resteemed and follow :-)

thx a lot :-)

also thx to @lichtblick

Agreed @flipstar, nobody is obliged to vote for us, and there are certainly no free lunches. And as it is in the real world, there's always that need to network with people and their mindspace even on social media. Consistent cribbing on social media, as in life, doesn't take anyone too far.

I think you are very right. and I could not agree more

As mentioned I try to spread my votes but my social network here is also important to me

I love your story very much..
And love also your thought...
You know what you are my inspiration...
Thanks for share ...
I wanna pray for your success..... @flipstar

thx a lot. glad to hear that

I also thought at first that everything was just "for whales". But then I began to communicate more, to comment on those posts that attracted me. And I became my own for many. Also has ceased to think of advantage, money and a rating. I just enjoy the process of communication.

I think that is a good approach. As long as you enjoy the journey all is good

excellent word! thanks

Some people here whine and complain more than they should be blogging. Instead of using their time to create valuable content theyd rather make a rant post about why theyre not making much money yet. They feel that after making only a few posts they deserve to be rewarded for it. Im just gonna stop here. Enough said.. Geez..
