How I vote

in #rambling9 years ago

There is no real science behind it but I try to stick to some guidelines now and I thought it might be interesting to share.

Authors I like
Most of the time I read and enjoy their content. As time or my motivation is limited I sometimes only cross read also.

Good content/projects

I still find really good content and projects I like to support.

Steemians who support me
You could call this a votecircle but of course I want to support the people who are supporting me.
And no it is not like you read in various posts that people with more Steempower just upvote each other. But you start to create friendships and of course you want your friends to do good also.

Comments

To keep people a bit more engaged I used to upvote pretty much every comment. Now I will switch to more meaningful comments were I dont have the feeling they are copy pasted.

Resteems

To be honest I am a little blind for resteems but often enough I find a new interesting author or a cool picture

New steemians

I think it is hard but quite possible for new steemians to get attention through the masses of spam posts and I am more active in my own feed the last months to be honest.
To counter this I want to find a couple of tags and become more active as a curator there.
Maybe I also could take a look more often into the introduceyourself tag.

Myself

If you dont think you can upvote your own content how you can expect others to do it?

For my supporters though I will start to upvote my own content after 20 to 30 minutes so I can reward them a bit more with a bigger curation.

How do you contribute your votes?

Still in my early days of using Steemit, which is why I am not even sure how the Steem dollar distribution for upvotes works anyway, but this is a good guide to use. I usually upvote on the basis of good content (whether original article or comment) and for those who have voted for me.

I think that is good but everyone has to find his own way what you are comfortable with.

all your thought are good. I vote for everyone. But I only do something. That's why you can tell

Thanks this has been a helpfull post for myself. I am new to steem it and pretty much upvote anyone who replies to me lol

I would go for content a bit more but you should do what you feel works the best for you.

I pretty much go by the same guidelines you do. But I need to take a break and let that voting power charge back up.

heheh me, too pretty soon :-)

it goes down fast

Nice post friend, well i like your way of upvoting the content, now my friend the problem is that i love steemit but i don't have a huge stake but i do have a little bit and i like to give upvote to each and every steemian present on steemit why because they use mind, electricity, fingers and energy they use their device and internet and it is administered by everyone, there every single word here is part of the ecosystem, in my opinion they deserve a lot more than that and i try to give them the most out of my stake worth, Stay awesome.

Thx for the comment.

Yes, it is hard to keep your voting power relativly high and still support all the people you like to support.

Sehr gut @flipstar

Das kann ich so unterzeichnen!!!

Ich bin gerade dabei, meine VP zu erfrischen und vote diesen
Artikel später noch nach.

no worries :-)
