To my knowledge, it was actually an SKS.

I have experience with both. I just bought an AK. In general, both take 7.62 ammo.

It should be noted that one of my best friends, who is a fellow libertarian and gun owner, got his SKS specifically because it's not a gun that is in danger of becoming illegalized under four years of a Democrat dictatorship. My friend's SKS is clip fed into an internal magazine that isn't detachable. AKs, like mine, are usually mag fed with detachable mags.

My gun is what the government might want to come for if Harris is elected. My friend's SKS is an afterthought for the gun grabbers.

This is consequential because, so far as I can tell, the media don't know the difference. The government doesn't seem to know the difference.

If I needed a reason to vote for Trump, it's that he's already been targeted by a person with an AR-15 and an SKS (possibly an AK-47), and he doesn't seem to want to throw me in prison for having an AK-47. Harris wants to throw me, and a few of my friends, in prison for simple possession.

They want to throw us in prison over something that they don't understand.
