20+ CHICKENS MASSACRED!

SOOO, You want to be a farmer, HUH?

I was showing my mother what needed to be done for the animals while we are in Seattle and I went into the chicken yard and found THIS. Over night a coyote had gotten into the yard and killed most every chicken we have.
Even now looking at these pictures I am sickened by it. I am soo angry and frustrated that this has happened yet again. Last year was turkeys getting killed in a one off attack, now the chickens this year in a one off attack.

This is the hole under the fence where the piece of shit got in. It dug for a while to get this hole large enough. I could see it's prints in the soil and the feathers outside the fence show it took at least one out. I have steel jawed traps that are now set in the hole with a dead chicken as potential bait. I hope to catch the thing but I don't think there is much of a chance o it returning. it already killed most of the birds.

Over 20 of my chickens! Fucking seriously!?!?!

These are my 4 remaining hens. Scared, lonely, and hopefully still young enough to produce eggs for a while since it will be next year before we get any more egg layers...

The number of birds just got cut in half. We now have 4 hens, 13 turkey chicks, 8 ducklings, and 2 geese.

I honestly don't know why this shit has to keep happening to me. It makes it VERY VERY VERY hard to continue on farming. There are many times where I find myself saying "FUCK IT! I'M DONE WITH THIS SHIT!!!" And then I am outside continuing on with the chores trying to put it out of my head.

I WANT THIS COYOTE'S HEAD ON A STICK IN MY YARD!!!!

I’m so sorry, I’ve been through this and hence why I only have 2 hens left. At night I put them in a large dog crate and in the garage they go instead of their coop. 😐

We are jus getting started with a few ducks of our own. Kind of like a thief, if they really want it, they will find a way to steal it. You think you have them locked up like Fort Knox, but a small breech led to big problems.
Hang it there, time to set some bait for the coyote and wait for his mangy butt to show up. Then mow him down!!!

It is really a catastrophe @flemingfarm, it is natural for the coyotes to search for their food and saw your chickens. I can see that your fence is very weak and he is very smart, you must reinforce it under the fence so that they do not dig and open gaps where they enter the chicken coop.

Oh god! I'm so sorry this happened to your chickens! I would be devastated as well. What a terrible thing to have happened. ((((hugs))))

Bummer! We had a husky that reigned terror down on my neighbors chickens about ten years ago. We felt so bad! You can’t replace all the work that went into them

So sorry this has happened to you. It is so disheartening. We have coyotes here too. The only thing that protected my animals were my dogs. I now have a very high wall build around my property to keep the vermin out. They still come to the outside of the wall and howl but we haven't lost any animals either.
