My Actifit Report Card: September 2 2018
Outstanding day in an incredibly amazing part of the Canadian Rockies. We stopped in at our canyon spot so I could get some stupid sick pics of the cut and river then motored on thru Jasper.
Our main stop for the day was the Athabasca Glacier which is part of the Columbia Icefield. 6 years ago almost to the day we were at the glacier and in the last 6 years the glacier has receded nearly 100ft/30m. I look forward to seeing my pics from then to see the terminus point of the glacier's toe and how much farther out it was. The insane wind coming off the glacier was a bit too much with the kids so we didn't get to touch the ice.
We made it to Canmore and our hotel for the night. My hopes of camping have been dashed by unwilling co-participants and chilly weather. Tomorrow we will be heading down through Kootenay park towards Radium Hotsprings. I am hoping we get to see the paint pots thus time as 6 years ago they were closed due to flood damage.
HAVE a good time .... from rainy SEOUL.
This part of Canada has been getting a fair amount of rain lately. Every night it has rained and everyday it has been partly cloudy. Today we got a bit of sprinkles coming off the peaks of the mountains around the columbia icefield.
