Totally agree with your arguments. I created a week ago this second account to my main account to keep the main accout clean. This cannot be the solution. Why is it so difficult to create new categories on the main menue of steemit? I also miss very much a category for my resteems. Really annoying.

Yep, I'd like to see a way to filter own content from resteems. While some resteems are really useful for you as a reader because it makes you aware of an interesting post, many times you just want to see what a person publishes, especially if you go to his/her page.
You can do that with the @steem-plus browser extension.

I think a lot about SMT's, and one aspect I do not put enough weight into mentally is "each SMT will have a new total distribution of their tokens that will very likely differ from the Steem distrubution". This element of future SMT structure should alleviate the concern of anyone who complains of current rewards structure of Steem.
What if there was a check box on these different dapps that asks if you want your upload to post to your steemit blog? The dapp could decide if they want to reward users more for checking the box "post to steemit".
Nice idea but that doesn't make sense on a technical level. ALL content is being posted on Steem while Steemit is merely a Steem browser frontend. It would not be possible to do that.
Where is the SMT? EOS main net has been launched and SMT has still remained a pipe dream for ages.
I don't know what EOS has to do with that but I agree that it is an annoying waiting time for this year-old promise of SMTs. But like Blizzard always says: It's done when it's done.
My bet is that @ned is treading on a shaky ground with this whole damn SMT/STEEMit thing. He seems to be in a state of uncertainty in pursuing this very seriously. He doesn't want to waste time and effort on something that would ultimately fail at the end of the day.
