Hi steemians,

Today I'm going to talk about Aromatherapy!

What is Aromatherapy?

source

Aromatherapy is a traditional medicine based on essential oils.
In Spain it's getting cold! So I took out my hot water bottle and my essential oils diffuser!

source

Be careful, these oils are powerful, you have to know how to use them. Flamingirl is here to help you ^^.

✋ WARNING before you start :

  • Although natural, essential oils are not insignificant because extremely powerful.
  • It's imperative to do an allergy test before any use: a drop in the crook of the elbow, we wait 24 hours and we see what happens.
  • Most essential oils are not recommended for pregnant women and children under 3 years.

Here are the 5 essential oils to always have in your pharmacy case.

  1. LAVENDER

source

Ideal for calming insomnia and anxieties that give palpitations, nausea or migraines. In this case, we mass the solar plexus with 2 drops of oil. Or you put a drop of oil on your wrists to breathe it.
It can also be broadcast in the air on a fabric for example or even better with a diffuser. if you want a super relaxing bath, pour 10 drops of oil into the hot water and enjoy!

Ideal to relax the muscles thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, this oil heals cramps and aches. Massage the muscle directly with a few drops.

I use it for its healing power and exceptional antiseptic that allows it to act in case of insect bites, burning (including sunburn) and scars (acne). Apply 1 to 2 drops of oil on the area. For larger areas, it is mixed with a vegetable oil.

  1. EUCALYPTUS

source

It helps boost your immune system and is anti-inflammatory.
This essential oil is great for overcoming coughs, colds, ear infections and other breathing problems. In diffusion, it purifies the air and facilitates the breathing.

For even more efficiency, put 2 or 3 drops in a container of boiling water and inhale, the head under a towel. And it can also be mixed with a vegetable oil and massage the chest and upper back.

  1. PEPPERMINT

source

It stimulates the digestive system and calms nausea. Put 1 to 2 drops of essential oil under the tongue (guaranteed freshness ^^). It works in 2 seconds top chrono and is the absolute ally for those who like me have motion sickness!

She calm migraines quickly! Massage the temples with 2 drops, you will see! It is also used in massage to soothe the pain.

  1. TEA TREE

source

Thanks to its high antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it is great for removing pimples. Apply 1 drop several times a day.
I also put in my masks to purify the skin.

As it is antibacterial and antiviral, it is also wonderful in case of infections (angina, rhinopharyngitis ...). Put 1 or 2 drops in a spoon of honey or a honey tea 4 times a day for at least 3 days. By cons, I warn you, the taste is not good! it's not for the sissy flamingos! XD

  1. LEMON

source

There’s a reason that lemon has become so universally identified with freshness and cleanliness: Its oil is a powerful antibacterial, astringent, and antiseptic agent!

Diluted lemon oil can be wonderfully effective when it comes to skin care. It assists in diminishing the appearance of wrinkles, promoting circulation, and toning the skin.

My anti wrinkle mask recipe:
2 drops of lemon oil, 1 or 2 egg whites and 1 tablespoon of organic olive oil. Mix and apply on the skin for 15 minutes then rinse!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. If you have any questions do not hesitate!

Hi @flamingirl. Great post. This is one of my best forms of therapy. It was great learning more about the essential oils.

There is so much to know but really interesting! ;)

nice sharing (you can follow me): @fargo

Great post, like always. I love Aromatherapy and essential oils since I use them daily but not just in aromatherapy. I take them internally and apply them topically for overall health. I did some posts about them too, and I am glad to see more people using this plant-based medicine. So many people are turning to these essential oils for their health benefits.
Thank you for sharing this great post and looking forward to see more my friend.

Thank you for your comment! I will read about the use of essential oils externally because I do not know much about this subject!
