Amazing Nature #178 - Golden tiger
Golden tiger
Today I continue with the most amazing felines in the world, as we have seen is a very extensive list and I am fascinated with the amount of feline on the planet and as they have adapted perfectly to all types of terrain and climates, really is an amazing and intelligent species, the problem it has had comes from humans who have finished part of their territories which in many cases has meant their disappearance. Today it is the turn of the Golden Tiger, a rare species of which there is a little reference. Come with me to learn more about this incredible species.

his tiger is the product of a modification of its DNA chain, a recessive gene that causes this variant of golden color, although current records are limited to reports of golden tigers in captivity as a result of the constant mixture of the same family group, in India there are records from last century where there were golden tigers in their natural state.
Its coat has a golden color with some red, not only the coat is the most striking of this species, also its size is much larger than that of other tigers, its stripes instead of being black as commonly present in other tigers, the stripes are golden or yellowish, a very soft touch, his leg in some variants is white.

Do not be confused, this tiger is a flare, but with a different color, the difference is its color and perhaps in size, but the rest is identical to the original tiger. It is even estimated that when two golden tigers continue to modify the recessive gene generating white tigers, another variety of the Bengal tiger.

Despite its records in India in 1900 is a tiger that today can only be found in captivity, and there are only 50 specimens around the world, so it is subjected to different scientific tests to better understand the evolution of the species. The positive thing about these experiments is that it has demonstrated the substantial improvement of the genes, managing to reproduce in a more optimal way. Normally the Tigers in natural conditions have a system of slow reproduction which hinders their survival especially if constantly their habitat is devastated product of activities of construction or agriculture to which I must add the fact that this species continues being hunted to obtain its beautiful skin and to sell it in the clandestine industry of confection of fur coats.

The only problem of the reproduction of tigers in clandestinity with the same group is that it is not only the golden color the one that can appear but other colors in the skin, and with it is not known to certain science if the tiger will be able to have deformation in the future.

This could mean the salvation or destruction of the Bengal tigers in captivity, although they are stronger and smarter than the other tigers and even if many of these zoos or reserve areas for the tiger do reproduce in the best conditions does not mean that this mixture is entirely good, the color may be beautiful but it is not natural that this is happening, and if it is a matter of time I think it would be too late for this beautiful species of felines to be saved from a variation of its recessive gene that brings motor problems.

The law is natural, in humans reproduction with members of the same family nucleus at first does not bring problems but in the long term the consequences are seen with diseases such as hemophilia called the disease of kings because these family nuclei were related to each other or worse development of diseases that diminish motor capacity, Down syndrome. If this happens in a species of mammal such as humans that can be expected from tigers.
