In this article we want to expose all the details related to the great white shark or silky shark so you know much more of a species that many fear and admire others so that, you can not resist any of their customs and curiosities. Do you want to know them?

The white shark is one of the best known and most feared marine species in history. Sometimes it is enough just to mention his name for people to tremble in a resounding way. However, behind this whole façade there is a fascinating animal with a good amount of details that certainly are worth being known.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WHITE SHARK?

Belonging to the family of the Lamnidae, the white shark is a species of cartilaginous fish that is among the most popular in the world especially because it lives in the oceans of the entire planet. As an interesting detail, it is worth mentioning that it is the only model of the Carcharodon genus that survives today.

The silky shark is characterized by having a strong and robust body finished in a conical head. The dark gray color is what predominates in the part of the back and is often differentiated by contrast with the white of your belly. On the margin it has two dorsal fins where the first is the largest of all.

The teeth are one of the most important elements of the known white shark, since it makes use of them to grind its prey and be able to feed on it. Formed in rows, they are large and triangular with edges well secured and sharp as blades and with the advantage that the moment they wear out or break, anyone else is born to take their place.

THE HABITAT OF THE WHITE SHARK

If there is an animal that is found by all the oceans of the world, that is the white shark. Certainly we are facing one of the most well-distributed species that has been known at least in terms of the marine terrain.

As a rule, it is adapted to live in different waters from where the temperate, subtropical and tropical are those that open the best of the fans among the spaces in which this animal is more comfortable. The sharks usually live near the coast although they have been seen up to more than a thousand meters deep.

Thanks to the survival hunt they have, the white shark can travel great distances from one side to another so in many cases, we will find groups that have been migrating to have the space they like the most.

WHAT DOES THE WHITE SHARK EAT?

The white shark is one of the largest marine predators we know (along with the orca, the largest) Thus, there is a large set of prey that likes to eat. Tuna, turtles, swordfish, seals or sea lions are some of their favorites but instead, as a detail, we should note that in their stomach they have even found car license plates.
