First FYP Meeting: A Test of Patience and Convenience || 10% Beneficiary Set to @steem-nations

Hi, how are you all? I hope everyone is well. So, as you know, a hectic semester has started, and it's hectic because our FYP (Final Year Project) has started this semester. Sometimes I think about how we were in the 1st semester, and now we're doing our FYP; it's hard to believe how quickly time has passed. Anyway, yesterday we had our first FYP meeting with the advisor. When we heard the advisor's name, we asked a lot of seniors about them, and we only got negative reviews. We were already scared before the meeting, wondering what would happen. Now, our meeting will be every Monday, but not continuously, it will be on alternate Mondays. We are main campus students, and our FYP meeting is at the city campus, which is quite far from both our home and the main campus. The meeting time is also at night, from 6 PM to 9 PM. And on Mondays, we have a morning class at the main campus from 8:30 to 11:30 AM, after which we're free. So, we go home, rest, and then go to the city campus for the meeting in the evening.

So, yesterday we went to the first meeting, and when we entered the room, we found out that we weren't the only ones; there were 5 other groups, making a total of 6 groups. Then the advisor came in, and he looked quite strict at first. But when he spoke, we realized that he wasn't that bad. The problem arises when you are given a task, and you cannot complete it by the due date; that’s when the advisor creates an issue. Otherwise, they don’t. The advisor is someone from outside the university, like our advisor, who is a developer in a bank.

Anyway, we went, and they gave us a paper where we had to divide our tasks according to the given dates ourselves. We did that, and then the advisor called each group one by one. The rest of the groups were free to chat, discuss, or whatever while waiting. Our turn came second last, at 8:30 PM. We went, and the sir asked about the project, what features we would have, and so on. He asked everything and then gave some advice, which we accepted. The meeting only lasted for about 15 minutes, and then it was over. The class timing is from 6 to 9, and during that time, the advisor meets with about 6 or 7 groups. The rest have to stay until 9 PM, as no one is allowed to leave before that. But coincidentally, we were done by 9 PM. When we left, the campus was completely in darkness. We went outside, took a bus, and went home. It was quite a hectic day, and we were really tired. But perhaps this kind of hassle is a must in a university student's life; without it, maybe it wouldn’t feel like we’re university students.

The university only cares about their convenience; they don’t consider what is easy for the students, because, for us, 6 to 9 PM is a really bad time. Going so far by public transport at such a late hour is not safe. But why would they care? They just want things to be convenient for themselves.

We tend to judge people by their first impression... However, first impression isn't the last impression. I absolutely understand the hustle and bustle of college life...hope you managed to reach safely.
