Milestone: Halfway Through Minnowhood

Another point reached. Another stone found. Another spot where you can look back on how far you've come. A springboard for bigger achievements.

It's why we celebrate milestones!

We achieve new feats every day and many just go by under the radar without any fanfare.

It's why milestones are different.

The joy of finally getting what you've been looking forward to. That period of anticipation. The build up to that final moment.

It's why milestones are special.

Now, a milestone isn't your final destination. They are points in your journey. In the grand scheme of things, you set milestones to keep you on track and motivated. Many times, these milestones would also need milestones because of how grand they are.

It's why in your quest to become a whale, you plot how you evolve from a Plankton to a Minnow then to a Dolphin before becoming a Whale.

But it's never that straight forward! The journey from Plankton to Minnow is pretty lengthy and that from Minnow to Dolphin is quite a distance!

So how do you keep yourself motivated?

You set smaller milestones! Now these milestones aren't too small to be celebrated. They are only called "small" in comparison with the initial milestones set.

So in your long journey from Minnow to Dolphin, you don't get discouraged after five months because then you hit a milestone you set sometime back; halfway!

Yes!!! It calls for celebration! Every milestone does and with celebrations comes renewed vigor for the journey ahead.

If I can hit 2500 SP, I can make it to 5000 SP!

That's the motivation to keep going.

Ahaha I totally forgot about plankton coming before minnows!

Great post though. I think it's really important to celebrate the small victories if you want to become a whale on steem. It takes time and creating great content can be draining. Creating content that doesn't come up with a lot of upvotes can be even more draining and demoralizing. Waiting for milestones and celebrating them are definitely the only thing keeping me consistent with quality posts and staying active on this platform!

I'm definitely going to set up this milestone system! My ultimate goal is to trvel and finance myself with steemit and having goals like these will definitely keep me on the right track. Thanks for your contribution :)

Great! Glad you found it useful 😊

good luck with your, travels and blogs here :)

Thank you! I'm uploading my first vlog covering my Vision of steemit and setting milestones!

Gratz, I'm still not over 1kSP but I would wish I was at 5K :) that's the beauty and also the sadness with comparing yourself to others, sometimes it just becomes a bigger stretch.
