It's been many years since I read a borrowed copy of Watchmen. I picked up a nice hardbound edition for myself about a year ago for just $10! It's still shrinkwrapped on my shelf... I need to rectify that soon.
Did You watched the movie? It's pretty great
I did, but it's been many years since I saw that too. I recall it was well done, but I thought the comic was better because the storytelling could be more in depth. It'd make a great big budget TV show... I feel like there may have been talk about that being considered at some point...
After reading this post and your two back and forth, it reminded me I haven't read the book or watched the movie in a while, but I think I might do something different and take it in that animated form I heard was done decently https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen:_Motion_Comic
Edit: I am a huge fan of both the movie and the source, I know as much as the movie had a couple of fairly drastic changes, but the amazing visuals and audio choices and faithfulness to almost everything else about the source, it really set a bar on movies for nerds that I really feel I haven't seen since. I mean Deadpool movie had the heart of Deadpool comics like no other movie, but even that was it's own story not copied directly from a story like Watchmen attempted.
Double Edit: While off on the web to find that motion comic to maybe watch today, ran across something that I am super curious about despite not being keen on fan edits in general
