The Universe doesn't revolve
Kurt Godel was one of the most famous mathematicians. It was Einstein's colleague and friend.
Being influenced by the Relativity Theory, Godel approached the difficult problem of traveling back in time.
Every time he met an astronomer he asked for this: "Does the universe spin around ?". The reason is that if he was sure about the Universe rotation he could build a machine for time traveling. Back in time traveling, of course. This idea was further developed by Frank Tipler.
What's new ?
Recent results tell us that, unfortunately, the observed Universe doesn't revolve because otherwise it would have left spiral traces in the background radiation.
