Lion Taking A Nap In A Tree (Ink Drawing)
Hello Everyone.
To begin my day, I decided to make this wildlife drawing of a young lion resting on the branch of a tree. Male lions spend almost the entire day resting and taking naps while the females do th hunting. The reference photo looked quite challenging at first sight, but i decided to make the drawing to practice and improve myself in the aspects of detailing and drawing of furs.
I used a black ball point pen and pelican paper for this drawing.
Here are the steps involved.
Firstly, I drew the outline of the lion on the tree and added all its facial features. I also drew the pattern of fur flow in this stage.
Next, I began to shade and add fur details to the lion's skin starting from its face.
Afterwards, I shaded and added some details to the bark of the tree.
I completed the drawing by shading and adding more fur details to the lions skin as well as adding its whiskers.
