Canadian silver dollar set.
Hello steemers, Today i wanna share this pair of Canadian silver dollars. These coins have been in my collection for some time now. Like most collectors you get burnt out on one type of coin and broaden your horizon. I found these and was taken back. At the time i wasn't familiar with them, but knew they had to came home with me.
This Silver coin honors the 400th anniversary of John Davis's exploration of Baffin Island, the Davis Strait and the Gulf of Cumberland. The design is the work of Christopher Gorey of Nova Scotia and depicts a vessel of the 16th century with an iceberg in the background. This coin is .500 silver and weighs 23.33 grams and also contains .3750 oz pure Silver. These are the proof and brilliant circulated versions. The coins were issued by the Royal Canadian Mint.
Pictures don't catch the cameo on the proof too good. Hope you enjoyed. I'm a proud member of the #steemsilvergold community. Thanks for stopping by and viewing.
