Iftar

in #iftar9 years ago

Today we decided to iftar together. The plan is, to do it at Farah's house in Hulu Langat, abit rural part of Selangor/Kuala Lumpur.

It rain quite heavily since 3pm. We were thinking about the traffic to her house would be massive. Little that we know its going to be flash flood.

As soon as we came down from Bukit Ampang, heading to Sungai Sop, we can see traffic are piling up. Lucky that my wife opened the whatsapp messenger, which Farhan warned us about the flood and the jammed. Road to Farah's house were inaccessible.

Suddenly Liyana told us that she and Jijah were forced to turn back, and stop at a mosque nearby. They decided to iftar at the mosque instead. We quickly made a uturn and head towards the mosque.

15 mins to Iftar, and we are 25 mins away from the destination. I am imagining that Lyana and Jijah's family were sitting comfortably inside the mosque compound enjoying their food. As soon as we reached the mosque, we can see few peoples standing behind a car, eating while standing. This is the last thing that we expect would turn out to be.

The feeling of Iftar by the roadside reminds us of our normal routine when travelling back to our hometown for Hari Raya, which normally 8-12 hours journey.
