Turning our fear into love
We often shy away from the lurking darkness of fear and tend to shut it away because it is misunderstood, We often choose to label the fear as bad, manifesting as dislike to other religions, races, culture and language.
We shut out the fear because we crave comfort, as human beings we want to live a life of happiness and joy, thus the unknown, or misinterpreted feeling, action or event moves us subconsciously to shut it out of our homes, our lives. Yet fear is misunderstood, it's the dark creeping tomcat, lurking in the darkness which only wishes to be welcomed, loved fed, and looked after.
Fear only wishes to be acknowledged; feel your fear, accept that whatever you feel is temporary, an emotional path from pain to compassion.
It may not be easy, but you have come so far in your life, you are here, you are breathing. With each breath welcome love, peace and compassion, with each exhale, release anger, fear, anxiety.
By breathing through our pain, until we encounter love and peace we choose not to stay alone but to welcome the darkness, welcome what we are afraid of. Pause right here and reflect on what's lurking in the darkness, let it speak, look it in the eyes and say i see you, i hear you. Breathe. Breathe in, and out, replacing fear with love.
By refusing to accept fear, we shut out the beauty in every passing moment. The twirping of birds outside in the trees, the bustling of leaves outside in the wind, the intricate beauty in the orchid on the windowsill. By refusing to accept our fears, we miss out on the beauty of life; we live hidden from fear, yet we blind ourselves of joy, passion and love. And if we do so, the things which were once lovely are now distasteful. It is your job, it is all of our jobs, to guard these small beauties and share them with others.
Pause here, reflect on your breathe, as we move toward a more peaceful, compassionate world.
Love, is all around us, if only we stop for a second to see it.
I encourage you to find more ways to bring love and compassion into your life.
