Well ... at first I took a picture of my wife's beautiful eye.
Step 2 was the post processing with photoshop. There were a few steps necessary to do it looking like this. For example I've used a little bit of Photoshop's Oil effect; then a little bit of color corrections and correction layers; then added some color effects with NIK Filters and edited it with some effects of Filter Forge.
