About my first Steemit Meetup

It was also the first Meetup, I ever attended.
I just got back.
I should have immediatly written down my thoughts yesterday.
Note to self: Start a journal
... too many impressions in one day, especially because I spent a lot of time exploring Hamburg, too.

First off : It was fun - Thank you !

@sirwinchester was a great host and I got to meet interesting people.
Thanks a lot !

The biggest takeaway for me:
I met a witness
He wasn't a scary cyberlord, but suprisingly human.

I didn't know about the witness thing, when I decided to join this event.
I was there to meet some other normal users - and I have.
All of them were great.

It takes a certain kind of person or mindset, to even go to such a Meetup.
I was out of my comfort zone, but I soon had my confidence back.

As the germans say: Die kochen auch nur mit Wasser ( Someone try translate that ... )

I heard many interesting questions and I realised, that I had understood Steemit pretty well right from the start.

I might not have the technical background to analyze the algorithms deeply;
But I can see a lot of potential - in a bigger picture.

I still see Steemit as a game

I'm a gamer and I can feel, how this is a well balanced game.
And I'm having a lot of fun.
Just like another big game that raised some attention recently, by connecting the real world with digital rewards, this could go huge.
And it's much realer

I still wouldn't recommend buying STEEM - Instead I would like everybody to try and just join the game first.

Start an account, build a network, go and promote Steemit !

( If you have some money to play with and the courage ... buy STEEM anyways ;) )

10 minutes walking distance from the Meetup.
A little 'anarchy' in the completely artificial and scripted HafenCity.
