Mary told her best friend, Elizabeth, she had finally achieved her career goal. Her book was out, so of course she'd expect some support from those she loved. It would come as a shock when Elizabeth refused to buy it. How could she? She was her best friend. This was very confusing. Had she been wrong about her friendship together? Taking a step back, Mary decided they needed time apart to ponder whether they should remain each other's best friends or not.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth struggled. Even though she had just been kicked out by her ex-boyfriend from what used to be her dearest home, she still had the heart to meet her beloved childhood friend. Because there was no path forward in her life, a deep sorrow overcame her when a simple request could not be met. Writing and singing are both difficult, unpredictable journeys.
